Was set up in October 1999 due to a demand for the provision of accommodation and support for 16-18 year olds under the care of social services.
Care leavers are over-represented among the homeless population, a study of young people leaving care found that just over 20% will become homeless at some stage (Biehal et al. 1995). More
Moving On can assist local authorities with meeting their obligations as set out in the Children (Leaving Care Act), 2001. Moving On will liaise with local authorities in order to implement the young person’s pathway plan.Moving On comply with CSCI regulations.
